BLACK CELTIC FLOWER ON MADDER RED - LIMITED EDITION LINO PRINT
* Very limited edition run of 5 prints.
* Approx 40cm x 27cm.
* Signed and stamped.
Hand cut lino design, hand printed on beautiful traditional Islamic paper from north India. 100gsm, smooth surface, with two torn edges and two deckle edges.
The design is printed with traditional oil based relief ink in black. I have added a subtle grey ombré to the knotwork boarder, achieved by mixing in small amount of white ink during the printing process.
As I have hand printed each of these prints, each one is unique, with variations to the grey ombré.
Each print is signed and stamped with a little handmade stamp, a snake printed with metallic gold.
The paper is handmade from sunn hemp fibre. Due to the handmade and hand torn nature of the paper, please note variations occur between each sheet - they are all unique.
The deep red colour comes from the root of the rubia plant, an ancient dye from India, and the source of the pigment Rose Madder. After colouring, the paper is burnished by rubbing on a curved block of wood with a smooth stone.
Please note as everything is handmade or handprinted there are small imperfections and variations, each print and each sheet of paper is slightly different!
Please see my Shipping Info page for more details on post and packing!
